Coverage continues at the approaches to the prayer hall, meaning the corridors, the doorways, and the stair or landing outside, so the record shows who moved toward the hall and when. It stops there. No camera is placed inside the musalla aimed at worshippers during prayer, and no camera is installed in or aimed at the wudu or ablution area under any circumstance. Those two exclusions are absolute, they are written into the scope before installation, and they are reviewed with the board so the congregation can be told plainly where the system looks. Restrooms are excluded on the same terms, as are any rooms used for counseling, imam consultations, marriage or family guidance, or private pastoral conversation.

The rest of the building is ordinary commercial territory and should be treated that way. Friday congregational prayer concentrates the entire week of activity into roughly ninety minutes, filling the hall, the overflow rooms, and the lot far beyond normal capacity, with cars stacking into adjacent parking, spilling onto shoulders, and turning across busy roadways in a compressed window. That surge is the strongest argument for exterior coverage: pole-mounted cameras with long-range optics over the drive lanes and overflow rows, license plate capture at the entrance, and full-color low-light performance for the Fajr and Isha crowds who arrive and leave in darkness. Overnight coverage of the same lot addresses a separate problem, since large empty lots attract dumping, loitering, and catalytic converter theft from vans and buses parked between weekend programs. Community kitchens and banquet halls that serve iftar during Ramadan, weekend dinners, and funeral gatherings need a wide view at each entry to cover appliances, catering equipment, and the constant load-in and load-out. Weekend and evening school spaces follow the standard for any facility serving children: cover corridors, doorways, the drop-off line, and the play area, and leave instruction to the teachers.

Donations and money handling deserve their own attention, because they are the area where a camera protects volunteers most directly. Cash and check contributions arrive in boxes at the entrance, in envelopes during Ramadan appeals, and in collection during fundraising dinners, and they are counted by trusted volunteers in a back office. A camera over the counting table and one covering the donation boxes remove suspicion from the people doing that work, which is the real benefit; the deterrent value is secondary. The same logic applies to storerooms holding audio equipment, event supplies, and zakat goods staged for distribution. On cost, a masjid funded entirely by community contributions cannot carry a recurring platform fee, so systems are built on standard power over Ethernet cameras and a local recorder with thirty to sixty days of retention, no subscription, and no vendor lock, and they are deployed in phases if the budget arrives that way, entry and lot first, school and hall later.
